I left around 2 ish headed toward New Orleans from Hammond, LA. We arrived at our Hotel about 40-50 minutes later. The Hotel was in between Poydras and Canal, perfect location. When we got to the front desk, we got UPGRADED to suite so of course we didn't pass that. This suite had its own VIP entrance*. So we chilled for a little in the suite watching some TV, then we all got FRESH! WE left the suite about 6:25 and walked to the Superdome which was a couple of blocks away from the suite. We got in line to enter which was surprisingly not that long. WE tried to talk the front attendant into getting us floor seats, but we were unsuccessful, I wonder why, lol. WE walked up the escalators and parked into our seats. First up: Robin Thicke-He was amazing. Great singer. "It was a good performance"-anonymous. It was a shame that they cut his performance short.

Second Up: Steve Harvey- Funny as always!! HE brought this guy up on stage to sing. He asked the guy what was his profession, and the guy said "Stylist". Steve Harvey cracked up, and called him a Hair Dresser, then the guy corrected him and said "Hair Stylist". Then Steve asked for how long, the guy responded "19 Years" Steve couldn't stop laughing. It was funny, the guy was a good sport about the situation.

Third Up: Chris Brown- He had a good performance. He sounded good and his dances were on point. He even sung some of his new songs "Umbrella Remix", and two songs with T-Pain. One thing I thought that could have been better was his wardrobe changes. He only changed his shirts. Yea I know he was given limited time, BUT he should have made the best of it and got his TIGHTESS GEAR out for the performance.

Fourth Up- BEYONCE- THIS WOMAN IS AMAZING. She tour the house down with her range of hit songs ranging from Destinys Child period to her latest songs. Her vocals are GREAT. She even did a rendition of a Jill Scott song. Her dances and dancers were perfect. I was thought she was good but, I have a whole new level of respect for her. America's Best Performer, BEYONCE!

After the concerts we headed back to the suite to freshen back up. I left and went with my line brother to go out, cause two of our line brothers were in town. Well I rode with him to take a friend back to her dorm room and about time we made it back to downtown he was saying he was tired and he had to go to work. SOOOO i proceeded to call my other lines brothers about this time they were already in, so I missed out my chance to get in free cause he had a hook up. SO I went back to my suite and went to sleep like a loser.
ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL-SATURDAY
WE woke up EARLY in the morning and went to the seminars. They were AWESOME, so much GREAT free and educational stuff. I went to all the booths. I got some FREE beer, saw Public enemy, took a picture and got a autograph from Kelly Rowland (Who I'm in love with, for now) and I saw Bobby Valentino. Then we went to this awesome seminar about "MEN" what it takes to be a man. On the forum panel was Common, Lyfe Jennings, Blair Underwood, David John (Frat), Chuck D, Rev. Conrad Tillard & Dr, Jawanza Kunjufu. It was so uplifting and informative. SO much great information was shared. This forum sparked an idea for a forum that I want to do. After leaving there we went back to the room, got dressed and went to a friend house. We stayed over there longer than planned, so we ended up not going to the music fest on sat. SO we went to this really nice restaurant called Sweet, Fire & Ice. Great Food, but it was TOO DAMN COLD! But Overall it was REALLY GOOD. I had a GOOD TIME. I can't wait till next year
